Format and Packaging Rules

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

  • 16 units of competency
  • 13 core units
  • 3 elective units.

Some units in this qualification may have prerequisite requirements, which must be met when packaging the qualification. Users are referred to the list of CPC08 units with prerequisite unit requirements available in this Training Package for this purpose.

CPCCBC4005A - Produce labour and material schedules for ordering

CPCCBC4006B - Select, procure and store construction materials for low rise projects

CPCCBC4007A - Plan building or construction work

CPCCBC4008B - Conduct on-site supervision of building and construction projects

CPCCBC4009B - Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects

CPCCBC4010B - Apply structural principles to residential low rise constructions

CPCCBC4011B - Apply structural principles to commercial low rise constructions

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Whilst there are no entry requirements stipulated in the training package, ICV requires its participants to meet the following criteria:

 

Minimum Age Requirement:

18 years or older at commencement of course.

 

Minimum English Language Requirement:

To demonstrate English proficiency, you must provide as evidence one of the following:

  • IELTS band score of overall 5.5 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and department of Home Affairs (DHA) Regulations (For International Students) for specific countries, or
  • IELTS overall band score of 5 when packaged with at least 10 weeks’ English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), or
  • IELTS overall band score of 4.5 when packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS, or
  • Pearson Test of English Academic – Score 42, or
  • Cambridge English: Advanced CAE from Cambridge ESOL Test Scores, or
  • TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language paper-based test – Score 46 -59, or
  • CELS (all skills) Upper intermediate (English for Academic purposes) certificate from recognised English language centre, or
  • Senior secondary Certificate of Education completed in Australia, or
  • Certificate IV or higher completed in Australia, or
  • Tertiary studies in medium of English

 

 

Minimum Academic Qualification Requirement:

  • Completion of senior high school to the Australian Year 11 or equivalent

 

Additional Requirements:

  • ICV will conduct LLN assessment on the orientation day to assess student’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy levels. LLN assessment will be conducted to identify the right level of support required by the students. This support will enable them to complete qualifications successfully in required time. This LLN assessment is not a barrier to the entry in the course.

Clients with no formal qualification, although have experience in Building & Construction, supervisory or management experience is an advantage.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Learners can demonstrate competency through formal, non-formal and informal learning:

formal learning refers to learning that takes place through a structured program of instruction and is linked to the attainment of an AQF qualification or statement of attainment (for example, a certificate, diploma or university degree);

non-formal learning refers to learning that takes place through a structured program of instruction, but does not lead to the attainment of an AQF qualification or statement of attainment (for example, in-house professional development programs conducted by a business); and informal learning refers to learning that results through experience of work-related, social, family, hobby or leisure activities.

Learners are encouraged to apply for RPL prior to or immediately after formal enrolment but prior to the facilitated delivery of units to ensure that they do not miss any class/workshop opportunities offered should they be unsuccessful in the RPL process.

Credit Transfer

RTO recognises the AQF Qualifications and Statement of Attainments issued by any other Registered Training Organisation.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway. Learners who successfully complete this qualification may also pathway into further study options including, but not limited to:
